Upscaling simply means increasing the size of an image. This is done by enlarging the resolution, for example going from an FullHD (1920×1080) source to a 4K/UHD upscale (3840×2160).
Note: Upscayl does not work without a GPU (graphics processing unit) and the GPU must be Vulkan-compatible to upscale images. Most modern GPUs are Vulkan-compatible.
